In Effective Nutrition our mission is to help our clients with their health, vitality and longevity using primarily the power of real food and adopting positive lifestyle habits.

We work with preventive health care, personalised health and lifestyle programs using an Integrative and Functional Medicine Nutrition Therapy (IFMN) approach, where the philosophy centers around a holistic model where “food is medicine”.

We take the time with clients to provide individualised care, based on all of the client’s concerns. We use laboratory functional testing and physical examination to assess your health. Our goal is to get to the root of the problem and encourage the body’s healing processes.

Functional Medicine addresses the underlying causes of disease using a systems-oriented approach and engaging both patient and practitioner in a therapeutic partnership.

It also involves understanding the origins, prevention, and treatment of complex chronic disease rather than the prevailing conventional model of treating the symptoms.

Why better nutrition helps you with all these health concerns

Food can be a powerful healing tool, or, the cause of a disease. We eat daily for energy and sustenance, but food can also affect us in ways unrelated to their nutrient content. Our immune system can react to the food we eat inducing allergies or sensitivities. There are certain naturally occurring chemicals in food that people can be sensitive to. Processed foods often contain additives that can trigger a reaction- For example, sulphites may trigger asthma and food dyes may cause hyperactivity. Those with digestive imbalances (e.g. in the intestinal microflora or digestive enzymes) might have issues with certain carbohydrates. Therefore the diet must always be addressed for healing to occur.
